One of Kartiers FCs greatest ever servants has stood down from his on field leadership duties, and handed his successor an immense opportunity to continue the ever demanding role of first team captain.

Andy Richardson sensationally ended his reign as captain last April when he surprisingly passed over the captains’ armband to a stunned Ryan Watson. On that day, Watson led his troops out for the first time to face a Malton side in a game which Richardson scored to seal an eventual 3-1 away win.

Andy Richardsons dedication to the cause has been there to see for many seasons, he will continue to be an integral part of the first team as he concentrates on building on his performances and goals from last season.

Q What was your greatest moment of last season?

Been handed the skippers armband from Rico and the gaffer.

Q What was your lowest moment of last season?

Being sent off for being Rugby tackled ha ha!

Q What do you aim to achieve by next seasons end?

Win everything we enter, also get a few more quality players to come down, and keep the good ones we already have.

Q Will you be introducing new methods to bring the players closer together this coming season, such as group huddles just before kick-off?

I will not, leave that to Jerzy in the reserves.

Q Could you tell www.kartiersfc.co.uk which soccerette is your favourite?

No comment.. I'm a married man.

Q Is it true you’ve played for three Saturday clubs last season, Selby Town, Thorpe United and Kartiers?

Actually there were four Saturdays clubs, i went to Brodsworth FC, what a bad move that was... they are awful!

Q Who in the first team dressing room is the worst dressed player on matchdays?

Sorry but its got to be Jon James, very bad!!!! Ossy is pretty close though.

Q Are you superstitious? Do you have any routines on matchdays you like to keep to?

Yeh, putting shin pads on just before I go out and tape has to be perfect.

Q There have been reports that you would like a specific rule changed in football, whereby if you’re attacked and punched and do nothing and don’t retaliate, then the referee sends you both off. You’d like that changed whereby only the attacker is given the red card?

Yeh I reckon so ha ha! 5 week ban and £30 fine.

Q Rumours have been circulating that your predecessor only offered you the captaincy after becoming frequently frustrated at losing at 'Touch-Cock', can you comment on this?

No comment... what Rico does in his spare time isn't any of my business ha ha!

Q If you were stuck on an island and had to take one of the first teams’
girlfriend/wife with you, whose girlfriend/wife would you take? lol
